Cassandra Beard, DO
Owner | Double Board-Certified in Dermatology & MOHS Micrographic Surgery
Dr. Beard is from Jefferson City, Missouri, and earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. She then went on to receive her medical degree from A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, where she concurrently completed a master’s degree in public health. Following her internship at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, FL, she completed her dermatology residency training in Jacksonville, FL, where she also served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Beard is an active fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and holds memberships with the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Beard enjoys life in Bluffton with her husband, Dr. Evan Wolff, and their two Golden Retrievers, Champagne and Mimosa. She loves experimenting in the kitchen, exploring new baking recipes, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Mohs Surgery and the American Vein and Lymphatic Society. He is a past president of the South Carolina Dermatology Association and has been a trustee, secretary, and treasurer of the South Carolina Medical Association. In May of 2008, he was awarded “Dermatologist Of The Year” by the South Carolina Dermatologic Association.

Elizabeth C. Liggett, MSN, AGNP-C is a certified nurse practitioner with 6 years of experience. In 2014, Liz completed a masters of science in adult and geriatric nursing from Columbia University in New York City. After her graduation, she practiced internal medicine in a variety of settings including long term care, urgent care, and most recently as a hospitalist. She has professional affiliations with the Honors Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Liz moved to South Carolina in 2019 to be closer to her family and she is thrilled to join the team at Dermatology Associates of the Lowcountry. In her free time Liz enjoys traveling, reading, exploring the outdoors and spending time with her family.
Taylor Owens, PA
Taylor Owens, PA
Taylor graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of South Carolina. She then earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Medical University of South Carolina, building on several years of prior experience working in dermatology. She joined Heritage Dermatology in 2020 and remains committed to providing exceptional, patient-centered dermatologic care.
Taylor is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) and the Society of Dermatology Physician Associates (SDPA).
Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, hiking, and cheering on the USC Gamecocks with her husband Cameron and their three dogs. She also enjoys frequent trips back to Mt. Pleasant to spend time with family, and (much less frequent, unfortunately!) trips to Hawaii to visit her sister, who lives on O’ahu.
Caitlin Cleland, PA

Caitlin earned her undergraduate degree from Charleston Southern University, where she was recognized as the Big South Conference Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2010. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at South University in 2015. Following her graduate training, Caitlin has spent over seven years practicing medical dermatology.
To further expand her clinical expertise, Caitlin completed the LearnSkin Dermatology Clinical and Integrative Essentials Program. This additional training supports a more comprehensive approach to dermatologic disease, incorporating lifestyle, nutrition, and systemic health considerations alongside traditional dermatologic therapies.
Outside of the clinic, Caitlin enjoys traveling with her husband, French and Spanish cuisine, and adventuring the Lowcountry waters with her family, including their two poodles.
